Kesaki Kojima, a hair and makeup artist, has a reputation for accurate advice unique to the same generation . It’s not difficult, just add a little more effort to your usual washing method. Let’s get started today.

1 Brush before washing

Brushing removes dust and boosts shampoo lather. It detangles hair and prevents hair loss. Comb all over your hair from top to bottom, then gently comb from bottom to top.

2 Rinse thoroughly with hot water and massage the scalp

Rinse with warm water before applying shampoo. Roughly 70% of the dirt on your hair can be washed off with hot water. Make sure to massage the scalp from the bottom up as well (pages 29-30 for effective massage techniques).
Take an appropriate amount of shampoo on your hands, lather it up, and wash it by massaging the scalp in the same way.

3 Rub conditioner into hair

3 Rub conditioner into hair

The conditioner (rinse) that protects the surface of the hair is thoroughly rubbed into the entire hair, not the scalp. It does not penetrate into the inside of the hair, so you can wash it off without waiting for a while. Spread the conditioner over your fingers and rub it all over your hair.

If you want to make it more fluffy and glossy, “This one step will improve the treatment effect”

Unlike the above conditioners, “The effect is halved unless it penetrates the inside of the hair. It is recommended to dry it, wrap it in a steamed towel, put a shower cap on it, and leave it on for about 5 minutes.”

If you are worried about the volume of your hair, review how to use the dryer!

“I have been in charge of hair and makeup for many Halmek readers, but everyone is worried about thinning hair, losing elasticity,” says Kojima.

Ms. Kojima herself says, “I’m particular about how I wash and dry my hair. It makes all the difference in how soft my hair is!” “First, choose a shampoo that suits your hair type, wash your scalp thoroughly, and then the important thing is how to dry it.

” You can add volume to your hair. Finally, use cold air to create a habit and dry it thoroughly. If you do this at night, you can easily complete fluffy hair on busy mornings.

” and put out the volume

From the back of the head, blow dry the hair in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Hair grows from top to bottom, so if you dry it as it is, it tends to become flat hair. “In the opposite direction of the hair flow” is the iron rule.

2 Apply cold air to fix the volume

After drying the hair on the sides and front of the head in the same way, apply cold air at the end. The cool air closes the hair cuticle and fixes the shape, keeping the hair soft until morning. Finish with a brush. If you use a brush to dry from the beginning, move the brush against the flow of your hair.

3 Dry thoroughly

Let it dry thoroughly and brush it off to complete. If it’s half-dried, it can cause odors and make you sleepy, so mornings are tough! Dry off overnight.

More fluffy and shiny “For those who are concerned about hair damage, use a hair care agent before using the dryer”

Do you use care products when drying your hair?
“Yes” 46% / “No” 54%

According to a reader survey, about half of the respondents use care products when drying their hair. “When using camellia oil, applying it while your hair is wet protects your hair without making it sticky and increases its luster.”

More fluffy and glossy “Are you using a treatment (rinse-off type)?”

According to a reader survey (*), more than 60% of people use treatments, and it turns out that everyone takes good care of their hair.
* We conducted an online survey of those who registered their email addresses with Halmek, and received responses from 365 people (as of November 15, 2017).
